I know smoking is discouraged and I res[pect that.  i don't smoke, but if I were to bring a Hookah with legal smoking products, would that be allowed?

Smoking, discouraged?  Not so, not so!  Dropping your butts on the ground...THAT is discouraged.  Aggressively.

I personally like the smell of the cigars people smoke during the event.

Smoking, discouraged?  Not so, not so!

Rulebook, page 14, "Smoking is generally discouraged because it takes away from the atmosphere of the game."  I'm strongly on the side of discouraging people, because tobacco smoke bothers me severely enough that I've had to go out on the HG back porch due to people smoking out in front of the building.  When my character is supposed to be involved in a meeting in the building, it matters.

Funny note: I was on a module where a real OOP bag of tobacco was used as an in-play bribe.  I never knew bright fey liked tobacco. Wink

Hey buddy.

The answer to your hookah question is yes.  I have brought a hookah on site before and kicked back with a bunch of folks and our favorite flavor or sheesha.  Just be smart about it.  Keep in mind the people around you, be thoughtful.

I approve this question, and honestly as far as I can tell, as long as your respect people about it. ya know the usual: keep smoke out of peoples face as best you can, don't smoke in buildings, that kind of thing.  and as far as hookahs go, those usually aren't a big deal I wouldn't think.  just watch out, I know those things have glass bases and usually pretty nice construction, so...prob. best left inside during field battles, kinda like I try to do w my pipe when I think to have it w me Cheesy

I am totally down with the hookah in the Mystic Knot!  I was thinking about bringing mine with me next event.

So bottom line, it's my guild and I approve it!  Again, we just need to be respectful of smoke in folks faces.. but on a side note to said folks, hookah smoke is very different than cigarette smoke.  Smells better and not as harsh.

Mad love!

It's a better quality tobacco, for sure. As long as the people staying in your cabin agree, then yeah, it's completely allowed. And given that's kinda the point of what you guys are doing, there's no worries. Just do me a favor and keep the packaging for your tobacco handy for inspection in case the authorities come in and wanna see what's going on, more for your protection than anything else. (They don't have to be on display, just within easy reach)
