Hi folks!  Get your orders in early!  Deadline for custom weapons is two Wednesdays before the July event.  Deadline for generics is the Saturday before the July event.
Quote
How to order
PM me on the boards or email at jollypirate(at)gmail.com.

Payment
Cash or check when you pick them up, OR...Paypal.  I can accept Paypal payments ("Personal Transfer" only at this time, since Paypal charges fees for other types); if you want to pay this way please let me know your preferred email address and I will send you an invoice with payment instructions.

Ordering and Payment Policies
If you have never been to an event and want to order a custom/decorated weapon or any of the following weapons, I require payment in advance: Shield, Two-Handed weapon (of any kind), Spear, Polearm.  I'm sorry to have to have this policy, but too many new folks order things I can't easily sell to other people and then don't show up.  I highly recommend playing at least one event before choosing to order a weapon anyway, unless you're ABSOLUTELY SURE you want that giant polearm with the kung-fu grip.  Monstertown lends out weapons to new folks for a reason!

For ALL weapons orders, please understand if you don't make it to the event and don't make any prior arrangements with me then I am likely to sell your weapon to someone else rather than spend several events hauling it back and forth.  I will make you new weapons if you promise to show up.  Smiley

The Weapons
WeaponPrice ($)
Waylay Widget5
Dagger/Small Weapon10
Claw (single)10
Shortsword15
Shortaxe15
Short Hammer20
Short Mace15
Longsword15
Staff20
Two-Handed Sword/Edged20
Two-Handed Mace/Blunt20-25*
Spear20
Polearm20-30*
Shield (all foam)25
Giant tentacles, otherSpecial
Paint, decoration, etc.5-10**

* Extra-large heads on weapons take a LOT of materials.  If you want something really big or unusual it will be a bit over base price.

** Weapons come with a coat of Scotch Gard and are undecorated (gray) unless otherwise specified.  Depending on what you want decorated, this covers materials and time.  Because there has been some confusion about this: all weapons without in-play value must be gray or brown (for wooden weapons).  I will be very happy to paint your weapon for the standard $5, but I don't automatically assume you want that.

Shields: The shields I make are all foam.  Due to the materials I use (2'x2' foam squares) they do have a maximum size (~24" diameter) and some shape restrictions, so please ask before ordering!

Hoods!

- Standard, unlined: $25
- Standard, lined: $35
- Special fabrics/other/winter hoods: Email me.   Grin

These are like Moresca's except I typically make them out of suiting which is a midweight fabric with a little heft to it.  I have black fabric in stock, and can get other colors with enough notice.

Tips on the Care and Feeding of Boffers:

Brand-new boffers must be "seasoned" over the course of a couple of events to give the tape adhesive a chance to settle.  Usually this will not be an issue, but if you take a brand-new boffer out in extremely damp weather (rain, very heavy mist, etc.) for longer than a few minutes  the tape will likely peel up and require repairs.  This isn't a defect in the weapon, it's just the way the tape behaves, so be mindful of that if the weather is bad.

Don't, don't, DON'T store your weapons in a car or other hot/humid place for an extended period of time!  The tape will melt right off, wrinkle up, your foam will do *terrible* things, and you will end up having to buy new weapons all over again!

Bump...

Just a friendly reminder: it's less than two weeks to the event, so if you need a weapon (or hood, or whatever)  and haven't ordered, the deadline is this coming Saturday!

Your first couple of events, you can borrow weapons from monstertown for the low low price of FREE.  I usually have some extras of various generic/popular weapon types that you can buy onsite, but I don't do returns so if you DO buy a weapon, make sure it's the one you pretty much plan on using for a while!  Smiley

The Players Handbook has instructions for making your own weapons, and for first-time weaponsmiths I recommend using ye olde duck tape (minimal $) instead of investing in a roll of gaff tape (lots of $$!).  Many people on the boards can tell you where to get the supplies, if you prefer to build your own.

I advocate buying from Casey Wink

When I was a new player, I took the standpoint of "I don't have to pay $50 for the event since the first one is free.. I might as well buy some weapons (which I can never have too many of...) "

Yeah, Johnie, but you still have not hit the "most weapons purchased from me, all-time" record.  That one still belongs to a certain Mr. Caldwell...heehee.

Yeah I thought I read something about borrowing but then thought it might just be if you are a monster. I do agree though about might as well buy something since the first event is free. Any suggestions on a weapon for most likely a warrior at least to start with? Also every one has been very nice and helpful, just wanted to say thanks.

And sadly enough, I'll be placing an order soon.  Undecided
