Kind of a big deal.

Shameless plug for Casey, or Why everyone should buy weapons from Casey.

This past weekend there was a big fire at my apartment (Farrington Lake in Chapel Hill/Durham if you want to google it). My wife and I were there cleaning and moving the last of our stuff out since we have already moved. Aside from some furniture the only thing of value was a lot of my larp stuff.

The furniture and my garb was ruined, however the icon masks and the merchant box were in a water-tight tote and survived. The real jaw-dropper is that all but 1 (yes, one) of my weapons survived. The one that bit the dust was burned, the rest were not. This is amazing considering that over 1000 (yes, that's a thousand) gallons of water were sprayed through our apartment.

Moral of the story: Casey's weapons are awesome and surprisingly water-tight.

Second moral: don't throw cigar butts into a cardboard box (yes, how the fire started. No, not me or anyone I knew)

Feel-good moment: it was none of my PC stuff (I had already moved that)...and it was mostly cold weather odds and ends.

I must take a moment to say...thank goodness Mirrorblade was safe in my care!  (D would have just DIED).

On a more serious note: I'm really glad you guys are OK and that nothing irreplaceable was lost!

When I went back in after the fire, the first thing I said to myself was "I'm glad I gave Casey Mirrorblade earlier this week."

No joke. I told Brittany, she just rolled her eyes.

Good to here irreplaceable(that being you and your wife) were not harmed in the fire. We/you can always replace stuff; but people can never be replaced. hope you find a new abode soon.

blessed be,
Tres
