·         Build and maintain relationships with key customer’s technical staff members and with internal stakeholders from customer service and field operations.

·         Provide technical assistance to all SunGard internal/external customers during environment outages.

·         Have a familiarity environment resources being utilized by SunGard customers. Use this information to assist in resolving environment issues or trouble shooting impairments.

·         Provide assistance/training and leadership to other engineers.

·         Perform weekly and monthly maintenance activity when required.

Requirements:

·         College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.

·         Seven to Ten years industry experience in a Microsoft Windows systems operations or engineering role, with substantial end-user or customer support interaction.

 

Experience with:

·         Strong Windows server support in a large, production server farm environment.

·         Strong scripting skills required.  Must be able to create scaleable management solutions for an enterprise level hosting service (500+ hosts under management).

·         Sound understanding of hardware fundamentals.  Able to make specific hardware recommendations based on I/O bound, memory bound, or processor bound applications.

·         Enterprise level storage (Array/SAN) and tape backup platforms.

·         Able to troubleshoot and provide resolution for servers with performance issues.

·         Extensive problem-solving skills for debugging OS, application, and server related issues.

·         Able to create end to end system monitoring and reporting solutions using performance monitor, SNMP and or by integrating third party products.

 

Other requirements:

·         Extensive knowledge of data communication concepts and technologies is required.

·         Strong problem isolation and resolutions skills required.

·         Must have the ability to lead and direct vendors to assist them in their efforts.

·         Strong interpersonal skills are a requirement.

·         Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies.

·         Excellent communications skills (written and oral) are required.

·         Strong time management and organizational skill are required.

·         Must have the ability to effectively work in a team environment, as well as independently.

 

Preferred Requirements:
