We you planning on just putting the dry ice where you stored the drinks to make cool fog, or actually putting the dry ice in the beverages themselves?

I was gonna pour the different flavored drinks into decorative bowls/pitchers. Then put dry ice in said bowls/pitchers for the cool fog effect, and ladle it out into cups. I cleared it with Dan first for safety reasons, and he said it wouldn't be a problem. Just not to let anyone touch it.

just some fyi i found out. ADD DRY ICE TO BEVERAGES It is OK to put food grade** Dry Ice into beverages for drinking. Use 2 to 4 pounds of Dry Ice for each gallon of room temperature punch. Use large pieces of Dry Ice not small pieces. The Dry Ice is heavier than ice and will sink to the bottom. Do not use any regular ice! The Dry Ice will do the cooling and must not be eaten or swallowed. Too much Dry Ice will freeze the beverage so have extra standing by if it all starts to freeze. It will bubble and give off the most fog when the beverage is room temperature. When most of the Dry Ice has sublimated, it will surround itself with ice and float to the top. There is still a little Dry Ice in the center of these ice pieces so do not serve or eat them. Carefully ladle the beverage into drinking glasses without any Dry Ice. Add regular ice to glasses for cooler drinks. taken from http://www.occc.com/abc/special-effects.htm

Not sure about beverage quality dry ice. When I put regular dry ice in drinks before for halloween, it looked cool and didn't harm anyone, but it made the drinks taste terrible.

Coming from years of dry ice experience (Halloween parties and theatre), it's fine to be ingested; but of course, you don't want to swallow the ice or have all ice with a little liquid . The trick is it's all about balance. Too much ice and you're going to get that bitter taste that David was talking about (Not only that, but too much ice will freeze the drinks making them.. well, undrinkable), not enough ice and it's not going to look cool. About two pounds of dry ice per gallon works best.
Also, "food grade" dry ice means the CO2 used in the ice is the same as the CO2 used in fountain drinks. It's the common type that you can buy at Wal-Mart

Makes sense. The halloween I was talking about, we just kept dumping more in to get more fog/smoke, didn't worry about balance. So when tried to drink and it tasted like a soda fountain w/ no drink syrup only worse.
Care and balance are probably good advice on this one.

By the time I had some on Saturday, the Armory/Brothel had found the perfect dry-ice to drink ratio. It was exciting and tasty! You guys totally need to do that again some time.
