Roleplay happens where it happens. However, we do not and can not control what happens on forums run/moderated by other groups. From time to time, plot and other staff members may post on unofficial forums, but that's done as a courtesy to players.
There are a few rules that apply to off-site (in the sense of when you're not at an actual event) and off site (meaning, not on the official Shadowmoor forums):
- If you overhear any IP information, then you may take that IP with your character. (So be careful what you say in a public forum)
- Things that happen in-play on the official forums take priority over unofficial forums.
- Things that happen in-play on site (at an event) take priority over official forums
Since we don't moderate unofficial forums, as a management policy, we don't officially link to them, so there's no confusion that it's an official, endorsed thing. Feel free to post links, but they won't be stickied or linked to from any permanent page on the website.
Also, be aware that a lot of people act VERY differently online than they do in person. Many, many times people have gotten their PCs into trouble by doing or saying things they never would on site. Refer to the first rule listed above for how to handle things like that.
