I was flipping through the rulebook and I couldnt find any place where these were listed and/or described. I was just curious about the rules behind them and was curious if someone could either explain them or point me to a source where I could read about them. The reason Im asking is because Frankie plays a Light Attuned character and it just sort of piqued my intrest. Im not gonna Metagame any of the stuff mentioned I wanted to see what the others (If there are any) were like. Thanks!

Note: Im not asking HOW to get one, that I KNOW is a FOIP answer ;P

(And if the answer is FOIP I get it, but it was worth a shot)

I myself have been searching for information regarding attunements, and while I found nothing in the Solar 1.8 rulebook, I did find some information in the Shadowmoor supplement. Specifically, page 18 (the last page) which makes a list of Lesser attunements.

There is no information in the rulebook regarding attunements.  In Shadowmoor "Lesser Attunements" are standardized and are listed in the Shadowmoor Rules Supplement.  "Greater Attunements" are still unique.

In Clanthia and probably Cerroneth (the other 2 SOLAR chapters) all attunements are essentially different from attunement to attunement.  There are no standardized stats for attunements in those games.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe Frankie is a player from a while back who is Light Attuned, which is a rare attunement based on former storyline and whatnot.  Other attunements that have been given to players in the past (Shadow, Void, Light, etc) are just other sorts of attunements found in the world....although relatively rare compared to your run of the mill "planar" attunements (Fire, Ice, Lightning, Acid, Life, Death, Chaos, Law).

Attunements can be gained from Formal Rituals or from powerful npcs with that kind of ability.....or sometimes you pick up the wrong rubber ducky in the kiddy pool (right Becca?).  It's common enough knowledge.  Now if I told you that Casey Hardy's pc eats babies and steals their souls then thats a find-out-in-play kind of deal I'd be worried about.  But really, whole babies!

Ok so the ones that are listed in our supplemental package are the only standardized ones, but others (Such as Light) can be generated on a case by case basis. Awesome. Thanks Chris!

Save the blood for pudding, grind the organs for sausage, cut the meat into morsels and make sure to give it a light sear to carmelize the juices and lock in the flavor.

Moving away from the whole Modest Proposal thing and back onto topic.  Attunements are no longer availible thru formal scrolls in Shadowmoor not sure about the other two campaigns.  Also with the exception of grandfathered attunements, such as the aforementioned Light attunement, do not expect to find attunements other than the ones in the supplement.  This is not saying that other attunements such as Light, Darkness or Waffle and Chicken aren't possible but i wouldn't go bugging Plot or Management about them.  I just wouldn't.
