...Was Alphonse, carrying the majority of his things, Zeke, the small Life being holding
a picnic basket over his head, with De Sala, the larger one, who was carrying the
remainder of Alphonse's things. Zeke gazed about the room as well as De Sala, though
for two different reasons. De Sala was getting a hold on her surroundings as Zeke was
simply curious and delighted on the trip he was about to take. Alphonse found an
unoccupied table to set his things, then turned looking to Zeke, gesturing for him to
follow him. De Sala stood with her back to the wall, looking around as Alphonse and
Zeke walk into the kitchen. After a few moments, they exit Zeke bouncing around happily.

"Picnic! And then seeing Miss Kalei!"

Alphonse smiled lightly, moving back to the table, him holding a sandwich in his hands,
as well as a full glass of some pinkish liquid. He walked over to the board noticing a new
message, reading it over for a moment. Zeke had returned to the table and was chattering
with De Sala quietly. After a few minutes, Alphonse turned around crisply, a very disgruntled
look on his face, that quickly faded as De Sala raised a brow at him. He shook his head
smiling brightly, sitting down and beginning to enjoy his sandwich. He noticed Cassette
speaking with Uzou, waving at her if she looked his way.

Sir Karn walks up and points at Desala and Zeke

"You two, as knight protector and head guardian of the HG, I am ordering you back to the guild building immediately.  I apologize for spoiling your fun, and you can be angry with me if you like, but you know why I have to do this.  Kalei will understand."

Sir Karn then turns to Alphonse and says "And you, if you do anything to jeopardize their safety again I will remove you from guild membership completely.  Next time wait for me to give you permission to use any of the guild resources.  Shoving a piece of paper in my face while I am talking with other people is not asking for permission."

The two Life constructs nod their heads and leave the tavern, heading back to the Healer's Guild.

Alphonse raises a brow, bowing his head a moment, he felt that enough
silence had passed and meditation was no longer needed.

He raised his head to look at Sir Karn, nodding lightly.

"I understand your concern, and ask forgiveness for stealing them away
so quickly before you. However, I had spoke with Kalei recently, and told
her that I was going to bring Zeke and Desala down for a visit to the
Orphanage, as to see Kalei again, and help with the children as well."

He bowed his head closing his eyes and placing a hand lightly over his chest.

"Again, forgive my hasty departure, but I also am curious about how you
speak of them as Guild Resources. You know as well as I that they are not
merely items, but actual beings with feeling and emotion. Of course, I do
not believe you are exactly speaking of them like such, but the way you
said it, to ask permission before I "use" guild resources, it was as if Zeke
and Desala didn't even have their own desires or opinions in the matter,
as well as if I was wanting them to protect myself."

He looked up at Karn.

"Threefold, forgive me. But I am not incapable of protecting them as well.
It is not that far to Docksides, and I am sure that they have went on many
a picnic before without anyone's explicit permission. But nevertheless, I
am not objecting to your order, nor being insubordinate. I didn't expect it
to be so immensely dangerous for a simple trip to see Kalei."

He stood, bowing to Karn.

"In due time, perhaps you shall bring them to meet the children. They
would be delighted to meet Zeke and Desala."

[toddr]

"No, I do not see them as items, however they are resources just the same as I am, and you are and the circle is.  Nor am I suggesting that you cannot defend them adequately, but..." Sir Karn leans in and whispers into Alphonse's ear (PM INC).  "And the orphans are free to come visit them whenever they wish."

[Yeshua]

Alphonse listens to Karn's words and nods lightly.

"Very well then. I understand. That's slightly disappointing. I was looking forward to
spending them with them, and also giving the Orphans a bit of a thrill, but regardless,
it cannot happen. I apologize for the inconvenience I caused."

He bowed his head.

"Kalei never said anything like that was possible, so it never occurred to me. Again, I
apologize for my foolish efforts."

[toddr]

"We all make mistakes, the trick is to learn from them.  Whether you choose the easy way or the hard way is up to you."  Sir Karn then slaps Alphonse on the back and says "Have fun on your trip, tell Kalei I said hi."  Sir Karn walks into the kitchen and emerges a few moments later with a plate of food and a drink and then takes a seat at a nearby table.

"Alphonse," the young healer spoke up, as the approached him, her hands coming to rest on her hips. She exhales softly, gently placing a hand on his shoulder, in case her voice hadn't already grabbed his attention.

"I don't mean to rush, but I do wish to get a few more things done before the Long Night, and at this rate, I'll never be back in time if we don't leave now."

She lowers her voice, to a delicate whisper. (PM inc)

She clears her throat, glances about the room, and heads back out the back door from which she came in through.

Alphonse looked to her and nodded lightly, letting out a sigh. He looked to his things then pulled a length of rope out, fastening it to the chest. Then placing it behind him he lifted it up and slid it onto his back, fastening the rope to his other things carrying them over his shoulder. Nodding as he checked the strength of the knots, he turned to Karn bowing his head.

"If you will excuse me, may Life sustain within you. Until our Winds blow together, farewell."

He then exited behind Cassette, only stopping briefly to apologize to anyone who needed to speak with him, responding with:

"I'm sorry, but I must be going to Docksides. If you need to speak, come with me please."

Vend strolls in the door and stops to glance around the room. Seeing Alphonse and company he was walks over to them and comes to a stop saying " if you guys are going to see Kalei I'm coming too. I have to ask her about something before the long night comes."

Sir Karn finishes his meal and returns his dishes to the kitchen.  He then collects his things and exits the tavern heading in the direction of the Mages' Guild.
