Camp Cherokee

For those of us who have never been before, and will likely arrive after dark, can we get a description of Camp Cherokee, like where tavern is, where you want us to park our cars, where the cabins are generally located, where's the bathroom?

Is there a map somewhere on how to get to camp Cherokee?  I know it's on the same road as the other site, but we had a hard time even finding THAT last time.  (We drove back and forth in the dark until the nice SCA people flagged us down.....)

If you look on the right side, there will be a road called "Group Camp Road," and you can see that it splits in two to go to Camp York and Camp Cherokee.  Ignore all the dotted lines, they're trails not road.


Now, looking further, Google Maps has some satellite pictures of Camp Cherokee, and they show a field quite a distance away from what I'm guessing is the tavern (since it's where the road ends).  Is that field where we are supposed to park our cars?

Parking area is on the right as you come into the camp. You'll see the cars parked, so you can't miss it. Tavern is pretty much in the same location as York, so just keep going down the road about 150 yards and you'll bump into it. Only difference is the parking lot is on the right (and bigger) and the road ends in a loop.

The 'healer's guild' building is, and I suspect forevermore will be, a storage building for the YMCA, so that building's off-limits. There are, however, new cabins in lowtown just behind the bath house, which will serve as HG and Mage's Guild. The cabin behind those two will be the AG, so town's all in one place.

None of this will make a lot of sense until you get there, or have been to this site before.

What about us in the grove? we bunking with the HG again?

That will depend on the size of the new building I assume.... the grove has traditionally stayed in the lake town on that site for IP reasons.

It's easier to dispose of bodies in the lake.
