Spellbook question

For reference purposes, can a spellbook contain spells that its owner cannot cast? (Example: Could I put earth spells in my spellbook so I remember their effects?)

Since spells books are not required in Shadowmoor I wouldn't see where this is a problem except for the Rare Spells.

I think a question that needs to be asked is: Is this an IP or OOP spell book.
If you are making a spell book for IP purposes, then you will obviously need a Hudgins ruling on it, since spell books are not necessary for play in Shadowmoor anymore...and thus, I am unsure of the rules on making/acquiring one IP.
If you want it solely for OOP purposes (verbal/spell effect help, for example) then there is absolutely no reason why you could not include every spell listed in the players guide (or just print off that section of the rule book and put it in a binder).

Spell books are not required, but if you want to make an IP reference book of spells and what you know about them, feel free.
