This coming Clanthia event, I'll be helping any visitng Shadowmoor characters check in their characters. The following information will help things go much more quickly and smoothly:
1. We will need to discuss all your character stats and ensure you have all the appropriate tags. This is easier for me if you already know your stats (ie an old character envelope, your personal list of skills, level, etc). The Clanthia campaign uses skill tags for all skills. It will also be helpful if you know how many lives you have on the Shadowmoor books.
2. Spellbooks are required for spell memorization in the Clanthia campaign, and are in-game items, which means they can be stolen. For first-time visiting Shadowmoor characters, a spellbook is not required. You must have an official Shadowmoor representative (that's me!) supervise the pulling of spells for that event. If the Shadowmoor character returns to the Clanthia campaign, a spellbook is expected and required. The PC is responsible for finding someone in-game they can copy a spellbook from.
3. The following things do not transfer between campaigns:
- Production (potions, poisons, alchemies, battle scrolls, foci)
- Production labs
- Magic items - the phys reps are still valid but hold none of the magical properties. These items are still magic items in the primary campaign, and as in-play items can be stolen, regardless of which campaign setting.
- Formal scrolls and components
- GOB - You cannot GOB out your character in a campaign other than your primary for that character. For example, a Shadowmoor native PC (your character is on the Shadowmoor books) cannot GOB cap in Clanthia.
If you have never played the Clanthia campaign before, you are required to attend the Newbie Safety Course (announced during Opening Ceremonies) because there are a few differences between the rules. I recommend reading over the version 1.8 rulebook (if you haven't already) found on the Clanthia forum site, which is the current rulebook (
http://solarinc.org/2010-02-23-SOLAR_PHBv1_8.pdf).
Attached is a chart highlighting the differences between the Shadowmoor rules supplement and how it works in Clanthia.
Due to in-game events, knights, dark knights, druids and rangers have differences in the Clanthia campaign. Please contact me privately if you have any questions on this for logistical purposes only.
I will be on site Friday night no later than 9:30 PM. If you have any further questions, please let me know.
See you guys Friday!
