Playable Ancestries

Shadowmoor is a diverse world full of different ancestries, cultures, and traditions. Some ancestries below encompass sub-sets, such as the Elves have Grey, Sampan, and Primal elves.

As long as a Player can meet the make-up and costuming requirements, there is no restriction on which ancestry they may play from the list of available ancestries below. Before creating a character, any full makeup or heavy costuming ancestries must be approved by the Shadowmoor Ancestry Marshal team via email (shadowmoor.marshal@gmail.com) or submitting the request through the form at the end of this page.

Dwarves

While typically smaller and weaker than humans, Elves are a magical collection of ancestries that excel wherever their attention is turned to.

These colorful wanderers belong to the many tribes of Amroth. What sets Stregosh apart from common Humans is the mysterious rite of passage required to join a Band of Stregosh.

Little is known about this wandering ancestry of plantfolk. They roam deep forests in warmer months, then root in place during winter to raise their children and survive the cold in quiet seclusion.

Ancestry Costume & Makeup Approval Form

Makeup ancestries are provided to enhance the Shadowmoor experience for a Player and everyone around them. As such, all ancestries (except Tyrran Human) require approval from our Ancestry Marshal team to help ensure consistency.

Use this form to submit a photo of your makeup and costuming as you are planning to wear for your first event and any questions you may have.

What to expect:

You will receive a response back to the email provided with an approval or specific areas that need to be improved.
